Rayong is the provincial capital of Rayong Province.

Rayong is one of the famous coastal and industrial province in the east of Thailand. The most famous place is Samet Island, Cha Mao Waterfall, Suanson beach, Mae Ram Pheung beach(means mom cry, a lot of people died in the sea because of rip current that usually happens in the area during the rainy season). but it's a calm beach.

A 1st class bus service connects Rayong directly with Suvarnabhumi Airport (the new BKK).

Samet Island is famous for its crystal-clear water and fine beaches. Beaches on the mainland is less spectacular but compensated with much-less crowd. There are also several virtually untouched islands on the east of Samet Island, namely Ko Kudi and Mun Islands. Mun Islands is also noted for its role as one of Thailand main turtle conservation center.
