Far Northeast Philadelphia is an area located in Philadelphia. The Far Northeast Philadelphia is a large section of Philadelphia, the fifth largest city in the United States and second largest city on the East Cost. The benefits on living in the far northeast is that you have the best of both worlds, you are right between the heart of the city and only minutes away from the surrounding suburbs such as Bucks County. The following neighborhoods are what make up the Far Northeast; Academy Gardens, Ashton-Woodenbridge, Bustleton, Byberry, Crestmont Farms, Holme Circle, Millbrook, Modena Park, Morrell Park, Normandy, Parkwood, Pennypack, Somerton, Torresdale, Upper Holmesburg, Winchester Park.
[edit] Get inHow to get to the Far Northeast part of Philadelphia? Easy! From the Philadelphia International Airport take I-95 North to the Acadamy Road Exit (Exit 32). If you are one of the lucky ones who has your own jet you can even fly right into the Northeast Philadelphia Airport which is located on Academy Road. The easiest way would be by car, however if you do not have a car then SEPTA would be your best bet, You can easily catch a bus on almost any corner and get to one place to the next. [edit] See and DoIf you want to see the historical part, museums and such then all you need to do is hop onto I-95 South and go center city. However here in the Northeast there are a lot of fun things to do! "Shopping" If you are a shopper then you have picked the right place to shop! In the Far Northeast is the Franklin Mills Mall which is a huge outlet mall. Located on Knights Road, Franklin Mills Mall is home to over 200 stores, X-games skate park, restuarants, and movie theatre. "Bowling, Movies, and Ice Skating" We have it all in the Far Northeast! There is a big ice skating rink called the Flyers Skate Zone located on Comly Ave. Here in the two rink facility they have public hockey, birthday parties, public skating, and hockey leagues. Complete with bike, horse, and hiking trails, this is a must see on a nice day. The best entrance is at Frankford & Ashburner, at the King's Highway Bridge. Around during the summer months? The Friends of Pennypack Park host a summer concert series every Wednesday featuring local favorites. Park at the entrance at Welsh and Cresco and follow the crowd. Afraid of trees? Northeast Philadelphia is bordered on the East by the Delaware river. A great location for a picnic is on Linden Ave. Head east on Linden until it dead ends at the river, there's also a boat ramp for some river fun!
