Default What is a good Disney World Honeymoon resort on a budget?

We would like to go to Disney World for our honeymoon this May but I have never been and I am having trouble figuring out where we should stay. I found a great place at a great price- Holiday Inn Beuna Vista but it is already booked for this coming May! :-( Anyone have suggestions? I see most of the places are very expensive, 400 dollars or more a night! I was hoping we would find something around 150 or 170 a night, but its looking discouraging. I would like it to still feel like a nice place since it is our honeymoon. Thanks

Go to the WDW website and look up their budget resorts. Don't know how great they'd be for a honeymoon, as there would obviously be lots of kids in those resorts.

You can find places for much less than $400 a night, unless you want a fancy suite. Even right at WDW you'd be able to find nice rooms for less than that. You must not be looking in the right place. Go over to TripAdvisor.com and check their hotel list. You have to be careful, though, or you'll end up not in a convenient location. I think WDW has honeymoon packages.

You could stay at a Moderate resort in Disney World, starting at $188 a night in May. I would consider Caribbean Beach (beach theme) or Port Orleans French Quarter (New Orleans theme). They have somewhat more romantic atmospheres than some of the other Moderate resorts. The Value resorts would be even cheaper, but none have quite the same ambience.

There are many benefits to staying on Disney property:
*free transportation to/from the airport on the Magical Express
*free parking if you drive yourself
*free and reliable transportation between your resort and the Disney parks; off-site hotels often offer shuttles, but they aren't reliable or convenient. The Disney shuttles run every 15-20 minutes, from before the parks open until after they close
*Extra Magic Hours - each day, one park either opens early or stays open late, just for resort guests
*opportunity to purchase a dining plan or take advantage of free dining (if offered)

Go to www.disneyworld.com and play around with various room or package options.

i would recommend port orleans french quarter for couples.
here is a direct link to the port orleans french quarter page of the disney world website:

If you can book it, four words: PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER.

Here's a list of reasons why:

1. It's a moderately-priced WDW resort, which means less families with children than the bargain resorts like the All-Star resorts -- and it's also much nicer with larger rooms.

2. It's the smallest resort in terms of size and number of rooms, so you don't have to walk far to get to/from the busses (believe me, you need to do anything you can to save your feet).

3. It's the first stop on the bus line for Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside, so your chances of getting a seat on the bus in the morning are EXCELLENT and at night if you have to stand you won't have to stand as long as the people staying at Port Orleans Riverside.

4. It has a water taxi that runs to the Downtown Disney Village Marketplace, which has a lot of great places to eat, shop, and have fun.

Here's a tip: See if you can get a package deal through Disney. They'll take care of your air fare, transportation to and from the airport, your stay at any of the Disney resorts, your park passes, and even a meal plan if you want that. If you have an American Express card, that's the card of choice for the WDW resorts, so you may be able to get a REALLY good deal.

Here are a couple of tips for things you may want to do:

1. CHARACTER BREAKFAST: They're not cheap (around $25.00 per adult), but it's kind of cool to eat buffet-style and have the characters come over and pose for pictures. Best character breakfast I've been to is Chef Mickey's in the atrium of the Contemporary Resort Hotel, which is on the Monorail. Restaurantosaurus in the Animal Kingdom is also very good. BE WARNED: They start taking reservations 90 days in advance, so call as far ahead as possible.

2. SPA TREATMENT AT THE GRAND FLORIDIAN: I mentioned you need to save your feet, but how about a relaxing couple's massage? The Grand Floridian is also on the Monorail, and you don't have to be staying there to use the spa. Again, not cheap (starts around $100.00 per person) but it's a nice way to relax and decompress with your spouse.

3. DINNER AT THE CALIFORNIA GRILL: The California Grill is on the 12th floor of the Contemporary Resort Hotel. Make reservations as far in advance as possible and request a window table facing the lagoon. VERY romantic for watching the sun set, and if you eat later you can watch the fireworks.

I absolutely agree with the others. The moderate resorts are very reasonably priced and are really nice to stay in. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is perfect for a honeymoon; it's beach themed with a tropical lakeside which can be very romantic. I hope you have a wonderful time on your honeymoon!

I had a great time there with my few fellows during my journey. We enjoyed there many most amazing and delicious food items. It offers all best services to their visitors. Its atmosphere is very pleasant. It has plenty well furnished rooms which look very nice. It is a best place where you can comfortably stay with family and friends at reasonable prices.

My dad going to enjoy nyc to tennessee with his mates
