At the ocean is best. Even on dull days there is usually a break for sunset.

At this time of year, that can be a challenge in Western Oregon. To greatly increase your chances on any given day, go east of the Cascades to minimize the chances of clouds (and especially rain).

The plains east of Maupin (near the historic ghost town of Shaniko) has great sunset viewing, as does the most of the US 97 corridor.

If that's too far, oftentimes Timberline Lodge is above the clouds when the Willamette Valley is overcast, like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Si...sta_P1857.jpeg

In my point of view, Haystack Rock is a best place where you can enjoy sunset views. It is also famous destination and my favourite too. I have been there more that two times in my whole life but I have a really great time there. It is an interesting place for visit and where you can enjoy many outside activities. I will love to explore this lovely destination in my future life again and again. What will you say about it?

I also enjoyed my maine bus tour with my nephew
