every country is unique, has it's own life, and thus beautiful. So, logically u will have to visit each country.... and that will cost u. Probably not so much in each country, but if u add the costs up...

The actual travelling shouldnt be too bad you can get cheap flgihts around europe but Hotels are going too cost you alot expecialy in London (i live just outside london) It can cost as much as £200 a night in some places. Probably best to base yourself just outside of London in a B&B

It won't be cheap, but plan ahead so you can get some good deals. Find out if you can get some discounts for you flight to Europe if you book early. And try to figure out in advance which are the cheapest ways to travel in each country. Train/bus/plane/cab/... It will take you longer by train ofcourse, but you can enjoy the sights as you're driving. Also it will be much cheaper as planes. I know that for about ? 50-70(sometimes even cheaper) you can take the train from London to Brussels (Belgium) or Paris (France). Stay at youth hotels or small bed and breakfast's.

Go out of season...spring or fall. During the summer all of Europe is packed and costs are high. Stay in the hostels, some are as cheap as $10 a night. A rail pass will cover the most ground for the best rate depending on how long you are going to be there and how many countries you want to see. Take everything in a backpack and travel as light as possible. i always take a small backpack for travel during the day. Buy food in the markets, not restaurants. You can eat very cheap by just getting some cheese, meat, loaf of bread...whatever you like. Europe has tons of bakeries, stand up dining, markets, etc. Don't buy water, they have good water you can fill up a bottle and carry in your day pack. Wear clothes that are easy to wash and wash them out by hand at night before you go to bed...helps save some money by not paying for laundry...shampoo can work as soap as well. If you are going to see museums, etc. look at buying a city pass. Paris for example has a pass to see the major museums and is cheaper, plus you skip waiting in lines. The rail pass also covers buses, rails, and some boats in the cities. Take good shoes and have fun, Europe is great!!

If you want to do it cheap, avoid London. If you want to travel around you'll need to plan on having at least 50-70 USD per day plus cost of flight tickets, which are usually around 1000 USD from large parts of the US, bringing a month in Europe to 2500 USD. That is quite a lot of lawn-mowing and baby-sitting, hope you manage.

Tip: One way to finance a big part of your costs is to tell your parents that you want flight tickets to Europe as your high-school graduation present.

You could do it cheaper if you based yourself in Berlin or Prague and rented an appartment there, then a month would be around 1000 USD plus flight tickets - but you would have no money to travel around.

For now I recommend that you go to your local library and try to get your hands on guidebooks on Europe. I can recommend the Lonely Planet series, especially "Europe on a shoestring" and "Eastern Europe" if you want budget travel. Other good series are Let's Go and the Rough Guide. If your library doesn't have them, get these books used on amazon.

I can also recommend reading travel forums like http://travellerspoint.com , http://www.virtualtourist.com and http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com . I've found travellerspoint to be invaluable when it comes to tips on budget travel, even if the site is a bit small compared to the other two.

Book your flight as student because usually there´s student fare. Or as exchange student. There are families who sponsor exchange student residence. Search from the web.

If you plan to go to Europe on your own, I'd recommand you to stay at youth hostels. In fact I'd recommand you to have at least 1 or two friends come with you. It's always better to travel in a small group of friends. European Cities can be kinda confusing, especially if u don't speak the language.
Talking about languages, another thing would be the language thing. Outside of the UK/Ireland, Netherlands and Scandinavia ( Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland) people don't speak much English!
In case you can't communicate with someone in English always try to find some local that is young, because young Europeans normaly do speak at least some English.
I mean you'll be able to get around but it wouldn't hurt to speak some words or know some phrases in the local languages! Such as, do you speak English/ I'm sry etc...
