If you did attend and sign up for a sweepstakes, then I'd say that it mostly likely is not a scam. However, those contests that you enter can turn out to be scams. And while it may NOT be a scam, it never hurts to be safe. I heard of this young lady once that entered one of these contests and gave away all of this information and everything and when she gave her credit card number out to these people that claimed that she won a free, exclusive and paid-expense trip to Belfast, she got her identity stolen and lost nearly all of her credit, her job and the deed to her house. She brought these people to court, but not much was done about it I don't think and then I stopped reading about it.
