Default Halong Bay Vietnam – From the Eye of a Traveler

Halong Bay is situated in Quang Ninh province in northern Vietnam, approximately 170 kilometers east of Hanoi in the Gulf of Tonkin. This bay is famous for its picturesque ocean limestone landscape and is recognized as one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural wonders. There are more than 2,000 limestone karsts in Halong Bay in addition to thousands of limestone monolithic isles along the 120-kilometer coastline of Bai Chay Beach. The weather of Halong Bay, like most of other places in Vietnam, is tropical with two main seasons: dry and cold winter, and hot and moist summer. The temperature varies from 15° to 25°C.
What’s so Special About Halong Bay?
Having visited the pace, I can say that Halong Bay is among the top tourist spots I’ve visited in my years of travel. The diverse-vegetation of Halong Bay’s terrain has created diverse ecosystems which includes oceanic, sea shore and tropical evergreen bio-systems. Visitors may explore the pristine coral reefs, untouched freshwater swamp forests, dense mangrove forests, crystal-clear water lakes and white-sand beaches. Halong Bay is also a home to 60 endemic faunal species and 14 endemic floral species. With its peerless aesthetic value and a varied conglomeration of wildlife, it’s not surprising at all that Halong Bay has been designated by the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism as a 'Renowned National Landscape Monument and later authenticated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
Legend and Folklore of Halong Bay
The literal interpretation of the name Halong is “Bay of Descending Dragons”. The ethnic folklore says that, in the ancient times, locals had to defend themselves from invaders when Vietnam was just starting to develop into a country. In order to help the people, a family of dragons came from the heavens to become their protectors. The dragons started spitting out sparkling jewels and jade which turned into islands and islets that link together to form a natural barrier against the foreign invaders. After the locals had prevailed, the dragons decided to settle in the bay. Since then, the name Halong was given to the spot where the brood-mother dragon stayed. Today, visitors can gaze in awe at grottos which create unified chambers with hidden lakes and spectacular rock formations.
Get the Best Out of Your Trip to Halong Bay
It is best to enjoy the natural wonders of Halong Bay Vietnam by embarking in one of several Halong Bay tours that visit the location on a regular basis. Sailing the waters on board one of the iconic junk boats is a truly unique experience that imparts a sense of the old world. Most of the boats have been designed in conventional junk boat style but they usually come with luxurious cabins and up-to-date facilities. These boats are floating art pieces themselves as they feature superb craftsmanship and brightly coloured sails.
Taking Halong Bay tours and Halong Bay junk boat cruises are awesome ways to integrate yourself in Vietnamese culture and truly enjoy the exotic feeling and the natural wonders of Vietnam. At the end of the day, whether you want an amazing way to explore the lush green environment and diverse ecosystem, or you’re looking for a romantic holiday among some of the world's most captivating scenery, Halong Vietnam has everything to offer… you’ll definitely have a journey that you will never forget! Halong Bay is a definitely a highlight of any visit to Vietnam and certainly a must on every traveler's list.

Default Vung Tau – Peaceful Beach City for Tourists

Vung Tau is a beach city with many sexy beaches for tourists. Moreover the city is not very far from Ho Chi Minh and it only takes around 2 hours to get here from the city. Vung Tau is undoubtedly the first choice of tourists and the citizens in Saigon. The services and facilities here are being improved everyday and now Vung Tau is known as one of the best beach city of Vietnam.

Choose your beach

There are many beaches in Vung Tau but basically we have the 3 biggest and most popular ones to consider which are Front Beach, Back Beach, Dau Beach. The Back Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam which is also named Thuy Van. There is also a big poplar forest at the Back Beach with some resorts and hotels in highland style around the area. At the south of Vung Tau, spreading 10 kilometers from Small Mountain to Cua Lap is a wonderful beach with gold sand, clean water but a bit wavy.

Very near to the Back Beach is, of course, the Front Beach. Front Beach is also called Tam Duong Beach by the local people. The water here is not as clean as the Back Beach so tourists gather mostly at the Back Beach. But you can come to the Front Beach to watch the sunrise in early morning or sunset in the evening on two sides of the beach. Along the beach are lines of coconut trees that it once had the named of Coconut Bay. When night falls, Tran Phu street and Quang Trung street will be lightened up by the street lights and café shops along the way.

Beside the romantic Back Beach, the shining Front Beach, Vung Tau also has a peaceful Dau Beach. This beach is not for bathing since there are many rocks here but they are not sharp, most of them are big rocks. All the rocks are leaning toward the ocean. You will find peace at this beach because the atmosphere is not as crowded as the Front and the Back Beach. Just a nice place to spend a romantic evening!

Pick your peak

The Big Mountain is located at the north of Vung Tau city and right next to the ocean with the name Tuong Ky. When traveling up the mountain you will find a lot of beautiful landscapes and travel spots like the White Palace, Buddha Monument, Maria Statue, etc. If you have the heart, conquering the highest peak of this mountain will offer you a stunning view of the whole town below. There is also another lower peak at the White Palace, peak Cao Trang at the beginning of the first turn on the way up.

Opposite to the Big Mountain, the Small Mountain (Tao Phung Mountain) lies at the south of Vung Tau. There are many hotels and resorts along the way at the foot of this mountain, and some restaurants and café as well. On the top of this mountain is the Jesus statue which you can climb to his arm and enjoy the panoramic view to the sea and the Back Beach nearby. There is also here that you can visit the lighthouse where you can take a high position to see the houses as tiny as your toes.

No matter what it takes, Vung Tau is one destination in your check list in Vietnam tours. This charming city with a sea culture and that of a modern city will make your holiday in Vietnam a unique one.

Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay's spectacular scatter of islands, dotted with wind- and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty and, unsurprisingly, northern Vietnam's number one tourism hub. Sprawling Halong City is the bay's main gateway but its dowdy high-rises are a disappointing doorstep to this site. Most visitors sensibly opt for cruise-tours that include sleeping on board within the bay, while a growing number are deciding to eschew the main bay completely, heading straight for Cat Ba Island from where trips to less-visited but equally alluring Lan Ha Bay are easily set up.
Halong Bay attracts visitors year-round with peak season between late May and early August. January to March is often cool and drizzly, and the ensuing fog can make visibility low, but adds bags of eerie atmosphere. From May to September tropical storms are frequent, and year-round tourist boats sometimes need to alter their itineraries, depending on the weather. November's sunny blue-sky days and lack of crowds make it the best time to make a beeline here. From that, Vietnam tour companies offer many Halong bay tours to meet visitors' vactions, please come and join Halong day tours, Halong cruises tours (Read more at: Vietnam Tour Booking)
