A few months ago we had to opportunity to sail on a 2-night inaugural cruise for Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas. What an experience. We had the opportunity to check out the new ship before she began her regular sailings. The food, service and entertainment were all top-notch. The ship is truly amazing. The décor is top of the line – both functional and elegant – and there is so much to do. This is definitely a family friendly ship. There are activities for kids of all ages, so the adults can enjoy the vacation as well without having to worry about entertaining the kids and doing only “kid” activities. I can’t wait to book a 7 night cruise!

I think it depends on the type of vacation you're looking for (i.e. diving, adventurous, relaxing, off the beaten path, best beaches, etc). For example, if you're a diver, one of the Western Caribbean Cruises would likely suite you best since some of the ports include places like Montego Bay, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; Miami, Florida. On the other hand, if you'd like to go to less touristy, off the beaten path areas, maybe the Southern Caribbean Cruise would be your best choice with ports including places like Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia; St. John's, Antigua; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

Another consideration is where the cruse originates and ends (usually same location). For example, if you live in or near Texas or Florida, this might influence your decision since different ships leave from each of these locations. With that said, I think this is should be much less of a factor than the islands you'd most like to visit.

Actually the itineraries are pretty much about the same thing - beaches and sun. Perhaps you can choose your itinerary based on the departure dates or prices. But do remember to enjoy the ship.
