Default Royal Caribbean vs Carnival

Many people have asked me what the difference is between Royal and Carnival. I always answer the same... who are you going with? Your college drinking buddies or or family? If you want beer chugging by the pool, go on Carnival. If you want a more relaxing trip with adventurous activities, go on Royal.

Hi Joker. Hi Imlavinia.

I've done the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean on RCCL. My favorite has been the Southern. Nicer islands and less commercialized. The ship I took was Adventure of the Seas and it was a blast. We departed from Puerto Rico so we decided to add a couple of days at the end and stayed in San Juan. Great trip!

What ships did you guys do?

RCCL is more upmarket while Carnival ships cater more to the mass markets with the main theme on fun. Of course there are execeptions. I think what not only need to know the ship but also the itinerary.
