I am always curious as to how a cruiser makes a decision what cruise to go on. Which is more important - the ship or itiineary. Of course the other factors like budget and cruise duration are also relevant.

Mine is definitely the itinery. I want to take a cruise to the Caribbean and if my ship does not go there then I aren't going. After I made my decision, then I choose which ship to go on. I also read on which ship has the highest rates of diarrhea and food poisoning. I got Norwalk virus on a cruise ship once and it stank up my vacation.
